Progress by Jowa Progress by Jowa
Because the file got a bit too heavy for me and my computer I made lots of save files during the work, that I figured I could use to show the process. Programs used are Paint Tool Sai, Photoshop and Google Sketchup.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but you drew it traditionally, scanned it/took photo, traced it then coloured?

Your work is AMAZING!

This looks really amazing!
You're a great artist for sure ^^
Thank you for sharing these progress shots with us and giving us some insight in your way of working.
That being said, this is a great inspiration to me :D
There is only one part I don't fully understand.
I am familiar with all 3 programs you mentioned (though rather photoshop elements then CS) but how did you use 'google sketchup' for this one?
It's mostly used for rendering 3D sketches of buildings right?

Anyway thanks for sharing ^^ and if you don't get round to replying to my question is totally fine
Enjoy your well deserved DD ^^

Thanks for your comment!
I used it for the buildings in the background. I exported them as 2d graphic (no anti aliasing)

Nice! WIPs are fun to see. Curious. How do you go about cleaning up the line work after you scan it?
Reply
:iconjowa:
Jowa Featured By Owner Nov 10, 2013
I scan it in black and white so that the blue sketch isn't visible, then use a white pencil in photoshop to erase any unwanted dust etc^^
